The Greenstede Singers
Carol Singing 2013, East Grinstead
The Greenstede singers are a Ladies' Chamber Choir, based in East Grinstead and directed by Marion Shuster.
We sing a classical and traditional-based repertoire in Festivals and concerts locally. In addition to arrangements of traditional folk songs, our repertoire includes works by Mendelssohn, Schubert, Vaughan Williams, Eric Thiman, Bob Chilcott, Aaron Copland, Philip Lane, Alan Bullard, Matyas Seiber, George Gershwin, Jerome Kern, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Leonard Bernstein, Bob Dylan and Johann Strauss.
In a lighter vein, we like to mix our classical songs with music of a jazzier mood, such as Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, Don't Sit Under The Apple tree , Dream A Little Dream Of Me or Make You Feel My Love.
We rehearse fortnightly on Sunday afternoons at 4.00.
